Born in 1980 in Montreal, Melanie Authier lives and works in Ottawa. She holds a BFA from Concordia University and an MFA from University of Guelph. An honourable mention winner in the 2007 RBC Painting Competition, she is represented by Georgia Scherman Projects, Toronto.
