" I find a certain satisfaction in contemporary art that manages to integrate and collapse the coolness of technology with the warmth of the human eye and hand. I am aware of the potential peril. Artists can stumble into the realms where the uses of new, mechanical tools reveal more novelty than nuance, where the artist herself can (unintentionally) disappear. I labour to avoid this, hoping instead to apply the machine-touch of the silkscreen, photograph or mouse pad in full knowledge of their languages and histories. By layering these, I move toward the state where the image (and its surface) becomes clarified. "
