Joseph Tisiga was born in 1984 in Edmonton and is a member of the Kaska Dena Nation. He lives and works in Whitehorse, Yukon, and in Halifax, where he is studying at Nova Scotia College of Arts and Design. He was a finalist in the 2009 RBC Canadian Painting Competition and longlisted for the 2011 Sobey Art Award.
