Born in 1977 in Newmarket, Ontario, Ehryn Torrell lives and works in London. She is a graduate of McMaster University and Toronto School of Art and holds an MFA from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. In 2006, she won the Joseph Plaskett Foundation Award for painting.
